For shops
Partner with OpenSpindle by capability
We are actively placing RFQs that generalist marketplaces turn away — hardened-steel wire EDM, molybdenum sinker work, 20"+ VTL turning, Inconel 718 aerospace brackets, ISO 13485 medical implants. If your shop runs one of these, we have the work.
Pick your capability
What are you set up to run?
Each page lists the real RFQs we are placing in that specialty, what qualifies a shop, and the terms. Start with whichever one is closest to your shop.
Wire, sinker & small-hole EDM shops
Spark-erosion jobs don't fit CNC price engines, so the hardened and exotic parts land in our inbox. We route them to EDM specialists set up to run them. Keep your own customers; quote the ones we send that fit.
Molybdenum, TZM, tungsten & refractory-metal shops
Molybdenum, TZM, tungsten, and tantalum RFQs come to us because the big marketplaces will not route them. If your shop has the ventilation, PPE protocol, and sourcing relationships, we have the work.
Heavy VTL & large-diameter turning shops
The RFQs with 20 inch diameter 1020 bar, forged carbon-steel rings, and oversized flanges do not fit the prototyping-marketplace network. If your shop runs a VTL or a heavy horizontal lathe, we have the work.
Inconel, Hastelloy & nickel-superalloy shops
Inconel 625, 718, Hastelloy, Monel, Haynes, Invar — these alloys do not fit automated price engines, so hardware teams send them to us. If your shop is tooled and set up for superalloy work, we have the RFQs.
Surface, cylindrical & centerless grinding shops
Grinding is usually the finishing step a milling-only shop subs out, so the RFQ for the complete part lands on us. If your shop runs OD, ID, surface, or centerless grinders, we have the work.
Swiss & micro-machining shops
Parts under half an inch with sub-thousandth tolerances usually bounce off a general CNC marketplace. If your shop runs Swiss lathes or micro mills, we have the work the big engines will not quote.
AS9100 / NADCAP / ITAR shops
Aerospace and defense buyers need traceability and controlled processing most shops cannot certify to. If your shop holds AS9100, NADCAP special-process accreditations, or an ITAR registration, we have the matching RFQs.
ISO 13485 / FDA-registered medical shops
Medical device buyers need the quality system before they need the quote. If your shop holds ISO 13485 and runs biocompatible materials, we route the RFQs that match.
5-axis & multi-axis milling shops
Parts that need true 5-axis — compound angles, deep pockets reached from one setup, turbine and impeller geometry — are a specialty few of our generalist shops run. If 5-axis is your bread and butter, we have the matching work.
How it works
The same terms for every shop we partner with
- Free to join
- No subscription, no per-RFQ fee, no commission on your quote. The customer pays us separately from your price.
- Quote-ready RFQs
- CAD files, drawings when the customer has them, materials and quantities, the date they need parts. Not a lead form.
- You price it
- Your price, your lead time, your terms. Skip anything that is not a fit without penalty.
- Payment protection
- The customer pays OpenSpindle before you release the job to production. You get paid on your schedule.
- Keep your own customers
- We do not call your existing accounts. The RFQs we route are from new buyers.
- DFM credit where you want it
- If you review drawings for cost and lead-time improvements, flag DFM review on your profile and we route those projects to you early.
